Just some observations.....

Today I took my two precious little boys to an easter Eggg hunt. They had alot of fun and found quite a few eggs full of candy. So of course I let them eat some of the candy. Now normally I am a no candy for the little ones kind of mom. But not today. So, they charged their sugar batteries quickly and then proceeded to bounce off of the walls for the rest of the afternoon. Lots of fun!!

I feel surrounded lately by pregnant people. And I am talking cyber space too. So many people are expecting or have just had babies. It is so exciting. I am ssssssssssoooooooo thankful for my two little guys but I must say that I am also glad to not be expecting again. I choose to live vicariously through my sister and others around me. That way I get to be the cool aunt or lady that spoils the kids, gets them riled up and then sends them home. I can't wait!!

But since I am reminicing about my own pregancys I though I would share some quirks from mine and then ask you to comment on yours.

1. I converted from a Dr. Pepper hater to a Dr. Pepper addict. Truly!
2. I think I could have lived on Mickey D's hot, greasy, salty french fries. Yummy!
3. I should have bought stock in Tums. Enough said.
4. I absolutley loved the taste of chocolate and Sunny Delight in my mouth at the same time.
5. I decided overnight that I never wanted to see a Papa Johns pizza or anything from Moe's ever again. I didn't even want to see the sign or commercials.
6. I fell in love with a nighttime must have - a body pillow.
7. When I got too big to have the body pillow in the bed I downsized to a Sqush pillow. I still have a love affair with that little guy. My hubby makes fun of me.
8. My firstborn had hiccups ALL the time.
9. My firstborn also sucked his thumb in utero so vigorously that when he pulled his thumb out you could hear a popping sound outside. Very weird!!
10. I fell while pregnant with both of them and they are still smart beautiful boys. Praise the Lord!
11. The fetal specialist told us that the oldest was Down Syndrome and offered abortion as an option. I told them NO and not only is he not Down Syndrome but he is absolutely perfect physically and mentally. Hallelujah! Makes you wonder how many perfectly healthy babies are aborted because some doctor freaks the parents out with innacurate assumptions.
12. Epidurals are the best thing ever !!! And nothing to feel guilty about. I mean if you can go all natural and want to, more power to you. But I LOVED the epidural.
13. Despite fears and misgivings, having a C-section does not make you any less of a mother or a failure at childbirth. Sometimes the little bugers just won't come out. Especially if they are over 9 pounds.
14. I loved watching the belly move! It was my favorite. Especially when it was just me and the belly and no one else around. Truly priceless.
15. I still wish I had a dollar for everytime I started crying for no reason whatsoever. I would be a rich lady.

Ok, your turn. I am sure you all probably share some of these but I want to hear more.

Good Night and Happy Easter!!!

I loved being pregnant!

-Should have bought stock in Tums too...that was painful!
-Love-Hate relationship with the epidural. 1st time wore off before Daws was born. 2nd time, gave me way too much and I was numb hours after. Both times I was 8cm before getting it.
-I was RH- and had to get shots throughout both pregnancies
-Thought we almost miscarried with Dawson in the beginning
-Both were unplanned
-Ava kicked a lot harder than her brother, why I though she was a boy
-Both my babies had hiccups and still get them when they start to laugh
-An ultrasound told us that Ava may have a heart problem...she didn't. Praise God!
-I ate everything in sight with Daws
-Didn't want to eat anything with Ava, except for candy.
-I loved eggs until I got pregnant with Ava. They made me want to barf, still can't eat them today.
-last trimester i slept mostly on the couch
-breastfeeding was harder than labor for me, but I made it through and loved it. 2nd time around was a lot easier...boobs will never be the same ;)
- And I loved watching and feeling my belly...the amazing experiences of growing a child...truly a miracle!

Thanks Beginning Again.... I had forgotten about my obsession with chips and salsa. I am surprised that my childresns first words weren't in spanish.

I also had to give myself shots twice a day while pregnant with #2 to keep my blood from thickening due to the blood clot in the lung after #1 was born. Don't know why I tried to block that memory. I still have a faint bruise on the belly where I did it.... over a year later. Praying that all the pregos out there can avoid drama.
